TikTok Lead Ads
Overview
Section titled “Overview”TikTok Lead Ads collect customer details in an Instant Form inside TikTok, without sending anyone to an external landing page. Removing that step is what lifts completion rates.
Signals reads the leads submitted to your form and delivers them wherever your team works: a CRM, a spreadsheet, a database, a file drop, an inbox or WhatsApp. Leads arrive without anyone exporting a CSV from Ads Manager.
To send lead outcomes back to TikTok so campaigns optimize towards qualified leads rather than raw submissions, see TikTok CRM Integrations.
Supported destinations
Section titled “Supported destinations”Destinations supported by TikTok Lead Ads
| Category | Supported |
|---|---|
| CRM | |
| Files & delivery |
Prerequisites
Section titled “Prerequisites”- A TikTok Business account with access to TikTok Ads Manager.
- Access to the TikTok Ad Account the lead campaign runs on.
- Access to the TikTok Page the lead form is hosted on.
- At least one Instant Form created on that Page.
- At least one lead submitted against that form. Test Connection previews real submissions, so a form with none returns an empty preview and cannot confirm the fields.
Authentication
Section titled “Authentication”In Studio, open Sources, find the Lead generation category, and click the TikTok tile.
- Click Continue with TikTok.
- On the TikTok permission screen, click Allow.
You are returned to Studio, and Signals fetches every Ad Account and associated Lead Form the authenticated user can reach.
Configuration
Section titled “Configuration”Instance Setup
Section titled “Instance Setup”- Give the instance a name.
- Select the TikTok Ad Account you want to send leads from.
- Select the TikTok Page where your lead form is hosted.
Signals reads whichever fields your Instant Form collects. If you change the questions later, the fields Signals delivers change with them, so check your destination mapping still lines up.
Test connection
Section titled “Test connection”Click Test Connection before finishing. Signals previews the leads retrieved from the form, so you can confirm the right form is connected and the data looks correct. If the preview is right, click Finish and the connected instance appears in your dashboard.
An empty preview usually means the form has had no submissions yet rather than a broken connection.
Manage instance
Section titled “Manage instance”One connection reads one ad account and one form. If you run five forms, you create five connections.
To add another, open the Manage existing instance table and click Add Instance. Repeat the authentication flow, select the relevant Ad Account, Page and connection name, test the connection and click Finish. The new instance appears in the Manage Existing Connections table.
To change one, click the connection in that table, then click the edit option in the menu to the top right to enable edit mode. Update the field values, click Test Connection to verify, then click Finish. If you cancel during editing, the previous configuration remains active.
Data & identifiers
Section titled “Data & identifiers”Signals collects the fields your Instant Form asks for, commonly email, phone and name, plus any custom questions you added.
Every lead also carries its TikTok lead ID, the identifier TikTok generated when the form was submitted. Keep it. It is what ties a lead in your CRM back to the original submission, and it is required later if you report lead outcomes back to TikTok.
Personal identifiers are normalized and SHA-256 hashed before they are sent to any advertising destination. Where the destination is a system of your own, such as a CRM, a spreadsheet, an inbox or a file drop, the lead is delivered as submitted.
Best practices
Section titled “Best practices”- Name each instance after the form it reads, since the list gets long once you run several.
- Recheck your field mapping after editing the questions on an existing form. The fields Signals receives change with the questions, and a destination mapped to a field that no longer exists stops populating it.
- Create a new connection if you duplicate or rebuild the form. TikTok may issue a new form ID, and the existing instance keeps pointing at the previous form.
- Expect no new leads while the campaign or the form is paused. The connection stays live and picks up again once submissions resume.
- Keep the authenticating user active and with access to the ad account. If they lose it, the connection stops.
- Store the TikTok lead ID in your CRM. Without it you cannot report qualified leads back to TikTok later.
Troubleshooting & FAQ
Section titled “Troubleshooting & FAQ”The permission screen does not complete. Confirm the account you are signing in with can reach the ad account, then click Continue with TikTok again.
No ad accounts or forms listed. The authenticated user cannot see them. Check their access in TikTok Ads Manager, then reconnect.
Test Connection returns no leads. Usually the form has no submissions yet. Confirm you selected the right Ad Account and Page, and check in Ads Manager whether the form has received any leads.
Leads stopped arriving. Check whether the form was rebuilt or paused, and whether the authenticating user still has access.
Fields no longer match the destination. The questions on the form changed. Re-check the mapping on the destination connector.
I need to read several forms. Create one connection per form. See Manage instance.
