Add DNS records at Constellix
These are the steps for Constellix. For what the records do and how to check the setup afterwards, see Subdomain setup.
Datahash tells you which record type to use and gives you the values. Follow the matching section below and enter the values you were given.
Adding NS records
Section titled “Adding NS records”-
Sign in to Constellix.
-
Go to Domains under Manage DNS.
-
Choose the domain.
-
Choose NS as the type and click the plus icon to add a record.
-
Enter one nameserver value and click Save.
-
Click the link to commit the changes, then Commit Changes, then Save.
You will have been given four nameserver values. Repeat the last two steps until all four records exist. A delegation with one of the four missing looks complete in the records list and does not resolve.
Adding a CNAME record
Section titled “Adding a CNAME record”-
Sign in to Constellix and go to Domains, then choose the domain.
-
Choose CNAME as the record type and click the plus icon to add a record.
-
In the panel that opens, paste the value you were given and click Save & Close.
-
Click the link to commit the changes, then Commit Changes, then Save.
Worth knowing
Section titled “Worth knowing”Changes are not live until you commit them. Adding a record and saving is not enough on Constellix, and an uncommitted record reads as saved in the records list while DNS still answers with the old values.
