Add DNS records at Liquidweb

These are the steps for Liquidweb. For what the records do and how to check the setup afterwards, see Subdomain setup.

Datahash tells you which record type to use and gives you the values. Follow the matching section below and enter the values you were given.

Both record types start the same way in Liquid Web, so these screenshots cover either one.

Getting to the DNS records panel4 screenshots

  1. The Domains Dashboard, with Domains boxed in the left sidebar and the DNS tab boxed above the page.
  2. The Current DNS Zones list, with the domain's records expanded and Add New Record at the bottom.
  3. The new record row, with Host, TTL, Type and Data fields, and the tick to submit.
  4. The zone records table with pending changes color coded as ADD, DELETE or CHANGE, and Restore Records and Cancel Changes below.

Adding NS records

Section titled “Adding NS records”

  1. Sign in to Liquid Web.

  2. Go to Domains and click DNS, then click the plus sign to the left of the domain to expand its DNS records.

  3. Click Add new record.

  4. Choose NS as the type, enter the record name and one nameserver value, and click the green tick to submit.

You will have been given four nameserver values. Repeat the last two steps until all four records exist. A delegation with one of the four missing looks complete in the expanded record list and does not resolve.

Adding a CNAME record

Section titled “Adding a CNAME record”

  1. Sign in to Liquid Web, go to Domains, click DNS and expand the domain with the plus sign.

  2. Click Add record.

  3. Choose CNAME as the type, paste the value you were given, and click the green tick to submit.
