Add DNS records at DirectNIC
These are the steps for DirectNIC. For what the records do and how to check the setup afterwards, see Subdomain setup.
Datahash tells you which record type to use and gives you the values. Follow the matching section below and enter the values you were given.
Adding NS records
Section titled “Adding NS records”-
Sign in to Directnic and go to My Services.
-
Click Domains.
-
Choose the domain from the list and scroll to the details section.
-
Click Edit below Name Servers, then Create nameserver.
-
Enter the record name and one nameserver value, and click Submit.
You will have been given four nameserver values. Repeat the last two steps until all four records exist. A delegation with one of the four missing looks complete in the Name Servers section and does not resolve.
Adding a CNAME record
Section titled “Adding a CNAME record”-
Sign in to Directnic and click the domain name to open its Domain Profile page.
-
Click the green Manage button beside DNS.
-
Select CNAME from the menu on the left, paste the value you were given, and submit.
