    FAQ

    Questions your team will ask.

Which events does Reddit CAPI support?

Reddit's standard web events are supported, including page visit, add to cart, purchase, sign up, and lead. During setup we also map custom events from your own site taxonomy, so funnel-specific actions beyond Reddit's preset list reach Ads Manager. This keeps optimization tied to the outcomes that matter for your business, not generic pageviews.

    How is dedupe handled?

Pixel and server events share an event identifier, so Reddit keeps one copy when both arrive rather than double counting a single conversion. We verify dedupe in Reddit Ads Manager before any campaign relies on the data, checking event match quality and confirming the identifier scheme lines up on both the browser and server side.

    What identifiers improve matching?

Hashed email plus the Reddit click identifier carried from the ad give the strongest match rate. Every identifier is hashed before delivery, so raw PII never reaches Reddit's servers. Adding more hashed fields, such as phone or external ID, during setup can lift match rate further without changing what data you send them.
