Questions your team will ask.
What does server-side tracking for Microsoft Advertising involve?
Conversions are delivered from your systems rather than relying only on the UET tag in the browser. That keeps measurement intact where blockers and cookie restrictions degrade tag-based tracking. Datahash builds the integration that hashes identifiers at source and sends conversion events directly to Microsoft, so campaigns keep learning from outcomes the tag alone would miss.
What identifiers are used for matching?
Hashed email and phone number, plus the Microsoft click ID captured on landing. Identifiers are hashed with SHA-256 at source, so raw PII never leaves your systems unhashed. The click ID ties a conversion back to the exact ad interaction, while hashed email and phone extend matching to users Microsoft recognizes across sessions and devices.
Do we still need the UET tag?
In most setups, yes. The tag covers browser signals and audience features while server-side delivery recovers the conversions the tag misses. Datahash deduplicates the two so nothing double counts, matching tag-based and server-side events on a shared identifier so each conversion is attributed once regardless of which path captured it first.
