    CONNECTIONS / Microsoft Excel

Microsoft Excel + Datahash: workbooks become ad signals.

A finance or ops team exports a workbook and drops the .xlsx file into a watched folder, syncs it from OneDrive, or emails it in. Signals opens the workbook, reads the sheets and ranges you mapped, hashes the identifiers, and routes each row to every ad platform.

    WHAT FLOWS THROUGH MICROSOFT EXCEL

The signal Microsoft Excel yields, and receives.

Every kind of signal that moves between Microsoft Excel and the platforms, through one hashed, deduplicated route.

What flows Every platform Offline conversions Lead conversions Custom audiences Lead generation Signals hash · dedupe· route Google Meta Snap TikTok LinkedIn OpenAI
    Offline conversions
A workbook dropped into a watched folder or synced from OneDrive is opened on schedule, so an export a finance team already produces each week needs no new step to reach the platforms.
    Lead conversions
The named sheet and range you set are read while other tabs in the same workbook are ignored, so a scratch tab or a pivot table next to the export does not confuse the mapper.
    Custom audiences
Identifiers are hashed the moment the workbook is parsed, and the file itself is discarded once every mapped sheet has been read, so no copy of the spreadsheet lingers on our side.
    Lead generation inbound
A row with a bad or missing identifier is quarantined and reported by cell reference, so a broken formula in one row does not stop the rest of the sheet from syncing.

    FAQ

    Microsoft Excel questions, answered.

What if the workbook has multiple sheets or scratch tabs?

Signals opens the workbook, reads only the sheets and ranges you name in the mapper, and ignores the rest, so a finance model with a dozen scratch tabs next to the export tab is not a problem. Merged cells and header rows are handled by the mapper, and a formula cell is read as its calculated value, not its formula text.

Is customer PII stored by Datahash?

Identifiers are SHA-256 hashed the moment the workbook is parsed, and no PII is stored on host servers in Datahash Cloud. The .xlsx file itself is discarded once every mapped sheet has been read, so no copy of the workbook persists after processing. A self-hosted Core deployment moves that same hashing into your own environment when the file cannot leave your perimeter.

Can Excel files be synced from OneDrive instead of uploaded?

Both are supported side by side. A workbook dropped into a watched folder or sent as an email attachment is parsed on arrival, and a workbook synced from OneDrive or SharePoint is picked up on the same schedule as any other watched location, so a finance team is not forced to change how it already shares files.
