WHAT THIS ENABLES
Meta WhatsApp CAPI
Meta WhatsApp CAPI is the delivery of Click-to-WhatsApp and downstream conversation outcomes to Meta's Conversions API, so campaigns optimize on replies, orders, and payments rather than message opens.
- A conversation that starts on an ad and ends in a purchase attributed back to the campaign that paid for it.
- Bidding on business outcomes for WhatsApp-led sales, not conversation starts you cannot bank.
- The link between a Click-to-WhatsApp tap and a CRM sale closed through a hashed identifier match.
Built for the teams that own the number.
Teams running Click-to-WhatsApp campaigns with no downstream signal.
From kickoff to verified events.
-
Track
CTWA click tracking from ad to conversation.
-
Capture

-
Deliver
Delivery via Meta CAPI with dedupe against WhatsApp Business API.
WHAT FLOWS WHERE
One use case, every source.
A Click-to-WhatsApp ad opens a conversation, Signals persists the referral identifier and hashes the customer's details, then sends each downstream outcome to Meta's Conversions API.

What ships with this offering.
CTWA campaigns optimizing on purchases instead of conversation starts.
A stitched journey from ad click to WhatsApp thread to conversion.
Hashed, consent-aware identifier handling throughout.

Do we need the WhatsApp Business API?
Yes, for downstream events. The WhatsApp Business API, or a BSP built on it, is where conversation and conversion signals such as message reply, cart, and purchase actually originate. Datahash connects to that API or BSP and maps those signals into Meta CAPI events, delivering the conversation's outcome, reply, cart, or purchase, to Meta's Conversions API for optimization.
How do you tie a message thread to a purchase?
The Click-to-WhatsApp click carries a referral identifier, ctwa_clid, into the conversation the moment it opens. Datahash persists that identifier alongside the customer's hashed phone and email, so later, when the purchase lands in your CRM or commerce system, the sale is matched back to the originating ad and delivered to Meta's Conversions API as an attributed event.
How is consent handled?
Customers opt in to WhatsApp conversations by design, since starting a chat is itself an affirmative action, and Datahash only forwards hashed identifiers for purposes the customer has permitted. Consent flags recorded in your CRM or CMP are checked and honored before any event, whether a reply or a purchase, is sent to Meta's Conversions API.
