Do we lose anything by keeping the TikTok Pixel installed alongside this?
No, the Pixel still contributes browser-side signal for the moments the server path does not need to duplicate, like page views. Purchase and checkout events share an identifier across both paths, so TikTok keeps one copy per order regardless of which arrives first.
Does this work on Shopify's checkout extensibility flow?
Yes. The Web Pixel API runs on Shopify's extensible checkout the same way it runs on the classic one, so the event stream feeding TikTok's Events API does not change when the checkout UI does. Merchants migrating from classic checkout keep the same server-side delivery and dedupe behavior without remapping events or reinstalling the pixel extension.
