What is Amazon Ads Data Manager?
Amazon Ads Data Manager is Amazon's interface for ingesting hashed first-party data into Amazon Ads, where it powers audience building and conversion measurement. Datahash is an active participant in the Amazon Ads Data Manager program and manages the full ingestion pipeline, from connecting your CRM, warehouse, or POS source through hashing and delivery, so the data arrives ready for Amazon to match.
Do we need AMC?
No. Data Manager ingestion works on its own, without an Amazon Marketing Cloud instance, so audience building and conversion delivery function whether or not you run AMC. If your account does have AMC enabled, the same hashed first-party data becomes available there as well, giving your analytics team a deeper view without a second ingestion setup.
How is customer data protected?
All identifiers, such as email and phone, are hashed before they ever reach Amazon, so Amazon never receives raw customer data. Only records carrying the required consent flags are included in the delivery, and raw PII stays inside your own environment throughout, whether it originates in your CRM, warehouse, or POS system.
