The short version
Meta Signals Gateway is infrastructure that Meta provides and you host. You deploy it in your own cloud environment, point your first-party events at it, and it handles collection, processing, and delivery of those signals to Meta. It is the successor in spirit to CAPI Gateway, with a broader remit: where CAPI Gateway was a self-hosted pipe for Conversions API events, Signals Gateway is positioned as a first-party signal hub you operate yourself.
What it gives you
The appeal is control. Events flow through a domain and infrastructure you own, which helps with first-party data governance and can improve signal durability against browser restrictions. You decide the environment, the region, and who has access. For companies with strict data residency requirements or an in-house platform team that wants everything behind their own firewall, that control is the whole point.
What it asks of you
Self-hosted means self-operated. You own the cloud bill, the scaling configuration, the version upgrades, and the monitoring. When events stop flowing at 2 a.m. during your biggest sale, the pager points at your team. It is also Meta-shaped by design: if you buy media on Google, Snap, TikTok, and LinkedIn as well, Signals Gateway does not solve those channels for you.
When it is the right choice
Choose self-hosted gateway infrastructure when data residency or infrastructure ownership is a hard requirement, and you have the engineering capacity to run it as a production service. Datahash supports this pattern and can deploy and manage gateway infrastructure on your subdomain.
