Video Walkthrough
Description:
The File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is a standard network protocol used to transfer files between a client and server over a network. Built on a client-server architecture, FTP supports multiple transfer modes (FTP, SFTP, FTPS) and allows secure, automated data delivery. By configuring FTP as a destination, LinkedIn Lead Ads data can be delivered directly into your server environment for further processing and analysis.
Prerequisites
Before starting the setup, ensure you have:
- FTP server address (hostname)
- FTP server port (default: 22 for SFTP)
- FTP server username (with read/write access)
- FTP server password
- Relative path to the data folder (optional)
Getting Started
- Go to Datahash Studio.
- Enter your credentials to log in.
- Navigate to the Files category under the Destinations list on the right.
- Click on the File FTP connector tile.
Configuration Steps
- Select Source Type
- Choose LinkedIn Lead Ads as the source type.
- Choose Connection Details
- Select the connection name you want to integrate (must already exist in the LinkedIn Lead Ads Source).
- Provide a display name for this connection.
- Choose the file transfer mode: SFTP, FTP, or FTPS.
- Set the data export frequency: Realtime, 1 hour, 3 hours, or 1 day.
Click Next to continue.
- Provide FTP Credentials
Fill in the following details to enable Datahash to send files to your FTP server:- Hostname: Server host address (e.g., ftp.example.com).
- Port: Default is 22 for SFTP, but can vary.
- Username: FTP account username.
- Password: Corresponding password.
- Relative Path to Data Folder: Folder location on the server where files should be stored.
- Click Next once credentials are entered.
How the Integration Works
- A folder named “Datahash” will be created inside your provided relative path (or directly under the root if no path is set).
- Inside the “Datahash” folder, another folder will be created using the lead ads connection name.
- As new data comes in, files will be generated with the provided file name and timestamp, ensuring easy tracking and versioning.
- Data will be stored and updated in this structured folder hierarchy for streamlined access and analysis.
Click Finish once the connection is verified.
- The connected instance will now appear in your Datahash dashboard.
Managing Instances
Adding a New Instance
