Option 8: Set up File GCP as Data Destination for Google Forms

Description  :

Google Cloud Platform (GCP) offers cloud services including storage, analytics, and machine learning. With this setup, Datahash will export Google Forms data as files to your GCP bucket.

Prerequisites:  

  • GCP Bucket Name
  • GCP JSON Key (service account with write permissions)
  • Relative Path where the file should be stored

Getting Started:  

Open the File GCP Connector  

  • Navigate to Destinations → Files in the right-hand panel
  • Click the File GCP connector tile

Select Google Forms Source  

  • Choose Google Forms as the source type
  • Select the connection name from your existingGoogle Forms Source setup

  • Select data export frequency – options:
    • Realtime
    • Every 1 hour
    • Every 3 hours
    • Every 1 day
  • Provide a name for the connection
  • Click Next

Provide GCP Credentials  

  • GCP Bucket Name – Name of your storage bucket
  • GCP JSON Key – Service account JSON key with appropriate permissions
  • Relative Path – Folder path inside the bucket where files should be stored
  • Click Validate Credentials

Folder & File Structure  

  • Datahash will create a ‘Datahash’ folder inside your provided path (or at the root if no path is given)
  • Inside it, a subfolder with your connection name will be created
  • New data files will be stored here, named with your file name and a timestamp

Finish Setup  

  • Once credentials are validated, you will see the file path and name
  • Click Finish
  •  The new connection will appear in the Dashboard  

Managing Connections  

Add a New Instance  

  • Repeat the setup with different settings (e.g., frequency, file path)
  • Validate credentials
  • Click Finish
  • The new instance (e.g., Ads connection 2) will appear in Manage Existing Connections

Edit an Existing Instance  

  • Click the connection name in the table
  • Click the Edit icon (top right)
  • Update any values (e.g., bucket name, folder path, frequency)
  • Click Validate Credentials
  • Click Finish
     (If Cancel is clicked, existing configuration remains unchanged)
