Description
Click to WhatsApp Ads allow businesses to connect with potential customers directly through WhatsApp when they click on an ad shown on Facebook or Instagram. By integrating this as a source, you can capture leads and conversations triggered through these ads and send them to your CRM or analytics destination for further processing.
Pre-requisites
- A Facebook Business account with access to Pages and WhatsApp Business integration.
- A valid WhatsApp Business number connected to the Page.
- A Datahash account with access to Sources.
Getting Started
- Go to Datahash Studio.
- Enter your credentials to log in.
- Navigate to the Messaging Ads category under the Sources list.
- Click on the Click to WhatsApp Ads connector tile.
Authenticate with Facebook
- Click on Login with Facebook for Business.
- Sign in to your Facebook account and grant the requested permissions.
Connection Details
- Provide a Connection Name.
- Select the Facebook Page linked to your WhatsApp Business account.
- Click Next to proceed.
Field Mapping
- Define the WhatsApp keywords, phrases, or text that represent specific events (e.g., lead generated, inquiry started).
- Map them to their corresponding event values.
Test Connection
- Click on Test Connection.
- Preview the latest leads data flowing from WhatsApp into your CRM.
- Any errors (if present) will be shown in the table.
Complete Setup
- Once validated, click Finish to finalize the setup.
- The connected instance will now appear in your dashboard.
Managing Instances
Adding a New Instance
- Click the Add Instance option.
- Authenticate again with Facebook for Business.
- Provide a new Connection Name and select the relevant Facebook Page.
- Map keywords/phrases as required.
- Click Test Connection → preview the incoming data.
- Click Finish to complete setup.
- The new instance (e.g., Ads connection 2) will appear in the Manage Connections table.
Editing an Existing Instance
- In Sources, locate the Click to WhatsApp Ads connection.
- Click on the connection name in the manage existing instances table.
- Click the Edit icon in the top-right corner to enable edit mode.
- Update the required field values (connection name, event mapping, etc.).
- Click Test Connection to validate changes.
- If you click Cancel, the existing configuration will remain unchanged.
- Click Finish to save updates
