Description
The File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is a standard network protocol used for transferring files between a client and a server over a network. This setup will enable Datahash to send your Snapchat Lead Generation Ads data files directly to your FTP server in real time or at scheduled intervals.
Prerequisites
Before starting, make sure you have:
- FTP Server Address (Hostname)
- FTP Port (Default: 22 for SFTP)
- FTP Username with read/write permissions
- FTP Password
- Relative Path where the file should be stored on the FTP server
Setup Instructions
1 – Log in to Datahash
- Go to Datahash Studio
- Enter your credentials to log in
Step 2 – Open File FTP Connector
- Under Destinations → Files, click on the File FTP connector tile
- Select Snapchat Lead Generation Ads as the source type
- Provide a name for this connection
- Choose File Transfer Mode:
- SFTP (Secure)
- FTP
- FTPS
- Select the Data Export Frequency: Realtime, 1 hour, 3 hours, or 1 day
- Click Next
4 – Provide FTP Credentials
- Hostname – Your FTP server address
- Port Value – FTP/SFTP port (default: 22 for SFTP)
- Username – Your FTP account username
- Password – Your FTP account password
- Relative Path to Data Folder – Folder path on your server where files should be stored
5 – Folder & File Structure
- During setup, a Datahash folder will be created at the provided relative path (or root if none is provided)
- Inside Datahash, a subfolder named after your Lead Ads connection will be created
- Files will be stored here with the chosen name plus a timestamp
- Files will be created at the chosen export frequency
Step 6 – Validate & Complete
- Once all credentials are entered, click Next
- Validate that the connection is working
- Click Finish to complete the setup
- You will now see the connection in your Dashboard
Managing Connections
Add a New Instance
- Click on ‘Edit’ icon to edit existing connections,
- Repeat the setup steps with a different connection or credentials
- Provide new FTP details or file naming conventions
- Test and finish setup
- The new connection will appear in Manage Existing Connections
Edit an Existing Instance
- Click on the connection name in Manage Existing Connections
- Click the Edit icon (top-right)
- Update credentials, paths, file name, or export frequency
- Provide new FTP details or file naming conventions
- Test the connection
- Click Finish to apply changes
(If you cancel before finishing, the previous configuration stays active)
