Description
Click to Instagram Ads enable businesses to connect with users directly via Instagram Messenger when they click on an ad. By setting up this source in Datahash, you can capture leads and customer interactions triggered by these ads and automatically send them to your CRM or analytics destinations for further tracking and analysis.
Pre-requisites
- A Facebook Business account with access to Pages linked to Instagram.
- A valid Instagram Business account connected to your Facebook Page.
- A Datahash account with source configuration access.
Getting Started
- Go to Datahash Studio.
- Enter your credentials to log in.
- Navigate to the Messaging Ads category under the Sources list.
- Click on the Click to Instagram Ads connector tile.
Authenticate with Facebook
- Click on Login with Facebook for Business.
- Sign in to your Facebook account and grant the requested permissions.
Connection Details
- Provide a Connection Name.
- Select the Facebook Page linked to your Instagram Business account.
- Click Next to continue.
Field Mapping
- Enter the Instagram Messenger keywords, phrases, or text that indicate an event has occurred (e.g., lead submitted, inquiry started).
- Map them to the corresponding event values.
Test Connection
- Click on Test Connection.
- Preview the latest lead data flowing into your CRM as per the mapping.
- Errors, if any, will be displayed in the table for review.
Complete Setup
- Once validated, click Finish.
- The connected instance will now appear in your dashboard.
Managing Instances
Adding a New Instance
- Click on Add Instance.
- Authenticate again with Facebook for Business.
- Provide a new Connection Name and select the relevant Page.
- Configure field mapping as needed.
- Click on Test Connection → preview the incoming data.
- Click Finish to complete setup.
- The new instance (e.g., Ads connection 2) will now be listed in the Manage Connections table.
Editing an Existing Instance
- In Sources, locate the Click to Instagram Ads connection.
- Click on the connection name in the manage existing instances table.
- Click the Edit icon in the top-right corner to enable edit mode.
- Update the required field values (connection name, event mapping, etc.).
- Click Test Connection to validate changes.
- If you click Cancel, the existing configuration will remain unchanged.
- Click Finish to save updates.
