Video Walkthrough

Description:

File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is a standard network protocol used to transfer computer files between a client and server on a computer network. FTP is built on a client-server model architecture and uses separate control and data connections between the client and the server.   Pre-Requisites:

Before you begin, ensure you have the following FTP server details:

  • FTP Server Address
  • FTP Server Port (default: 22)
  • FTP Server Username
  • FTP Server Password

Getting Started:

Choose Data Entity

  • Select Store Sales as the data entity.
  • Provide a name for your file source.
  • Click Next.

Download Sample File

  • Download the sample file to understand the required structure and format.
  • Prepare your sales data accordingly.
  • Upload the file to your FTP server in the appropriate folder.

Provide FTP Credentials

Enter the following details for Datahash to access your files:

  • FTP Hostname – The hosting server name.
  • FTP Port – Default is 22.
  • FTP Username/Password – Typically same as cPanel or server login.
  • Relative Path to Data Folder – Example: myfolder/salesdata.

Datahash will validate the credentials. Once validated, your connection will be successfully set up.

Click Finish.

You will now see the connected instance in your dashboard.

Managing Instances

Adding a New Instance

  • Follow the same setup steps as above.
  • Provide a new connection name and data entity.
  • Enter the FTP access credentials.
  • Validate and click Finish.
  • The new instance (for example, Ads Connection 2) will appear in the Manage Connections table.

Editing an Existing Instance

  • In the Manage Connections table, click on the connection name you want to edit.
  • Click on the Edit icon (top-right corner).
  • Update the required fields (for example, credentials, path, file name).
  • Click Test Connection to validate.
  • Click Finish to apply changes.
  • If you click Cancel during editing, the previous configuration will remain active. Updates are only applied once you click Finish.
