Overview
Description:
Customer Match lets you use your online and offline data to reach and re-engage with your customers across Search, the Shopping tab, Gmail, YouTube, and Display. Using information that your customers have shared with you, Customer Match will target ads to those customers and other customers like them.
Goal
- Reduce your cost per action with increased event matching.
- Increase data control.
- Improves measurement of Online and offline Conversions.
Pre-Requisites:
A Google Ads account
Getting Started:
Let’s go through the process required to set-up Google Customer Match.
- Go to the Datahash dashboard and locate the destinations card. Look Google Customer Match under Google and click on it.
- Click on the “Sign in with Google” button.
- ● You will be re-directed and asked to login into your Google Ads account. After Logging in, click on “Continue”.
- Once done, you will be required to input your Customer ID and MCC account ID of your Google Ads account.
- Customer Account ID: ID of your Google Ads Account.
- MCC Account ID: The MCC account id is the manager account customer id.
- Click on Validate Credentials to complete the setup.
Components:
MCC and Customer Account Types:
There are 2 types of accounts
- Manager Customer Account
- Customer Account (child account under the MCC)
The hierarchy of these can be of below types:
- MCC Account (level 1) > Single or multiple Child Accounts (level 2)
- MCC Account (level 1) > MCC Account (level 2) > Single or multiple Child Accounts (level 3)
- MCC Account (level 1) > MCC Account (level 2) > MCC Account (level 3) > Single or multiple Child Accounts (level 4)
Types of IDs:
- The user needs to input two IDs in the setup. First being the MCC ID and the other being the customer ID.
- MCC Account ID is the ID of your parent account. This will be the topmost/first level google ads account.
- Customer ID is the id if the account where your conversion actions are present. This can be MCC or child account as well.
We always recommend that the user with Admin level access of all accounts should do the setup. In case you are facing the issue during the authentication then please check your access level of the google ads account. In this case you might have to contact the person who has admin level access of all (MCC & Child) accounts.

To understand the set-up better, here are some technical details about the components involved:
Finding Customer ID and MCC Account Id:
Step 1: The process to find the Pixel ID and Access token is detailed below:
- Login to Google Ads account. https://ads.google.com/
- Click on the Google Ads Account as shown in the image.
- The First account is the MCC account. By default, every time you login, you land on the MCC account.
- Now, you can have multiple MCC accounts under the Parent account. Here, you can see “TechHub India MCC” have 2 MCC accounts under it namely “TechHub Delhi MCC” and “TechHub Mumbai MCC”.
- There are also 3 Customer Accounts called Child accounts under “TechHub India MCC” namely “Codebrews”, “Codeninja” and “Codenow”.
- You can also check whether the account is an MCC or child be going into Settings > Sub-account settings.
- You can see that for MCC account, (manager) would be written along with it.
- Where to find the custom audience lists being generated?
- In top navigation bar, click on search icon.
Search for Custom Segments and click on it.
