Step 1: Setup Click to Messenger Ads as Data Source

Description  

 Click to Messenger Ads allow businesses to start direct conversations with customers on Facebook Messenger when they interact with an ad. By setting up this source in Datahash, you can capture leads, inquiries, and conversations triggered by these ads and send them seamlessly to your CRM or analytics destinations for deeper engagement tracking.

Pre-requisites  

  • A Facebook Business account with access to relevant Pages.
  • A Messenger-enabled Facebook Page.
  • A Datahash account with access to configure sources.

Getting Started  

  • Go to Datahash Studio.
  • Enter your credentials to log in.
  • Navigate to the Messaging Ads category under the Sources list.
  • Click on the Click to Messenger Ads connector tile.

Authenticate with Facebook  

  • Click on Login with Facebook for Business.
  • Sign in to your Facebook account and grant the requested permissions.

Connection Details  

  • Provide a Connection Name.
  • Select the Facebook Page from which you want to collect Messenger data.
  • Click Next.

Field Mapping  

  • Define Messenger keywords, phrases, or text that indicate an event (e.g., “Interested”, “Book now”, “Demo”).
  • Map them to the corresponding event values in your CRM.

Test Connection  

  • Click Test Connection to validate.
  • Preview the latest leads data captured via Messenger.
  • Any errors will be displayed in the data table for review.

Complete Setup  

  • Once validated, click Finish.
  • The connected instance will now appear in your dashboard.

Managing Instances  

Adding a New Instance  

  • Click Add Instance.
  • Authenticate again with Facebook for Business.
  • Enter a new Connection Name and select the Page.
  • Configure field mapping as required.
  • Click Test Connection → preview the data.
  • Click Finish.
  • The new instance (e.g., Ads connection 2) will now appear in the Manage Connections table.

Editing an Existing Instance  

  • Locate the Click to Messenger Ads connection in your Sources.
  • Click the connection name in the manage instances table.
  • Select the Edit icon at the top-right to enable edit mode.
  • Update the desired field values (connection details, mapping, etc.).
  • Click Test Connection to validate.
  • If you click Cancel, the current configuration will remain unchanged.
  • Click Finish to save updates.
