How To Generate Access Token for Facebook Offline CAPI & Offline Data Source in Events Manager  

The purpose of this blog is to outline the process involved in generating the access token for Facebook Offline Conversions API and Offline Data Source in Events Manager.  

1. Creation of Offline Data source in Events Manager

2. Creation of App

3. Creation of System Admin

4. Generate Access Token via App & System Admin

5. Configuration of Destination Connector for Meta Offline CAPI

6. Configuration of Destination Connector for Meta Custom Audience

 

Creation of Offline Data source in Events Manager (If it doesn’t exist)

Select your account and go to Events Manager

Hover on the menu button and click on Connect Data Sources

Connect New Data Sources, on which we have to select Offline and click on Connect

Click on Create Later for Offline Event Set Id

Provide a name to create an Offline Event Set and click on Create

Select the required account for CAPI and click on Next

Simply click on OK

(Complete step 2 & step 3 if not already completed first)

Select your System Admin and enable Full Control, and click assign

Offline Data Source in Events Manager Set-up is done

Creation of System Admin (If it doesn’t exist)

If there is no system user present then click on Add.

Enter System user name and assign Admin Role to it. Click on “Create system user”

Once the Admin System User is created click on Add Assets.

Select all Ad Accounts and give full control of Ad Accounts. Click on Save Changes

Generate Access Token via App & System Admin

Go to https://business.facebook.com/. Select your Business Manager and go to settings.

Go to Accounts > Apps. You will see Apps created for business.

Go to Users > System users. If an Admin System user is present in your account then you will see it in the list of System users.

Now, click on “Generate access token”

Select your app and make sure to check ads management checkbox. Finally, click on the Generate token

Now, you can copy these Access Token and insert it in the Taghash interface.

Configuration of Destination Connector for Meta Offline CAPI

Login to Taghash (considering you have setup the compatible data source for Offline CAPI)

Search and find Offline CAPI connector

Add business manager id, Offline event set id & Access Token (copied from step 1 & step 3) from Events Manager

Done.
